Going To The Redwoods

As you can see from how I look, it is early. Just as the sun comes up, "here comes the sun, by the beatles, plays on the radio"...Here I go, documenting this 48 hour adventure of ours. Sometimes, I wonder how we get into these things. It is 289 miles each way, it is Friday am and on Sunday, same time, we will be on our way home. Crazy it is!

The sun came up a couple of hours into our drive Friday morning, you know Matt. It was early...

Clear Lake is the biggest Lake I have ever seen, it was huge. Highway 20 runs along it for miles and miles. I don't remember it being that big.

Willits, is definately the Gateway to the Redwoods. The trees from this point up to Arcata, are the hugest trees I have ever seen. Everywhere, Giagantic Trees for hundreds of miles. It was breathtaking for sure.

This is such an old school town, it could be Anytown USA, totally Americana, super Norman Rockwell...But then all the towns up North from us are kind of just like our Nevada County. Except that North of us, is sooooo podockville. Wow, I thought we lived rurally. No we do not, north is so much smaller. Beautiful, but I am sooo happy where I live!

What an experience it was, driving through the redwoods, it was really a long ways, or so it seemed driving, winding, up and down. We stopped in Leggett Ca where the drive through tree is. We checked out the Ocean way up North, and ended it with a Rave, yes a Rave, Saturday night. Most of our friends did not show, but their kids did...Wow, what an eye opening experience. The music was so loud, the door jams and walls, were vibrating in the room we were in. ALL NIGHT LONG! I have so many pictures, I will post in the next week, some of the video is definately RAW, but gives you a feel for what we did, birds eye view...
