Tornado Touch Down

Last night we had the craziest event ever! We were watching the news, checking out the ticker at the bottom playing the headlines of the day. I read this: "the best place to hide in a tornado is in the basement", HELLO - we are in California! I keep on reading "it is approaching Nevada County, Alta Sierra area." Matt and I look at each other, it was 4 miles away at that time...A few minutes later, all hell broke loose. The hail was so big and fast it was bouncing off the roof, it was so white in our yard it looked like snow. Lightning in our yard, thunder so loud, Heather would have died, and of course, power out. Out all night, well not exactly all night, at 2:00 am the tvs went on, all the lights in the entire house. It was definately an eventful evening. Or non eventful, since we had nothing to do but go to bed. We definately were not prepared yesterday, today we are. Gas for the generator, battery inverter for dvd players, etc.

This morning on the news they verified that there were 3 touch downs of tornado in Nevada County, grass valley to be exact and Yuba City 2 times. Wow, and up the hill at 5000 feet elevation, they got 1 inches of snow! Crazy weather!
