Happy Halloween

I hope everyone has a nice Halloween, we are expecting rain tonight, right around trick-r-treat time. I think Crystal and the boys are going to get wet tonight.
Because I raised the girls in Graeagle, every other year there was snow on Halloween, so we drove to each house to trick-r-treat, and the girls absolutely hated wearing a jacket over their costumes.
Those were such fun days, the older I get the more I miss the days when my girls were young!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Changes

I decided to change the deck around again, time to move certain things away from the part of the deck that is not covered.
I know I do this alot, I have always changed rooms around, often.

The trees and shrubs are starting to change color quite clearly now. Although it has been in the high 70s for about 5 days, super nice.
But we are expecting rain tomorrow night.

I like changes, it is the surprises I hate. I really cannot remember many times in my life that a surprise turned out to be a good thing.
So, I was served a subpoena for a deposition regarding that crazy mf I worked for back in 2008, apparently he died and the bank is going after the daughters. It is in mid November.
And, if that was not enough, I was asked by the son I gave away, to be a friend on facebook.
I wrote him back and gave him my email and said we could communicate that way, as I am not a fan of facebook and my personal life. The last time we chatted was 16 years ago.
So just when you think you can sit back and breathe...
YOU CANNOT!
I will let you know how things go, with both.

Moon Over My House

This morning at 4:30 the moon was so full it lit our entire room. I grabbed my camera. This morning, I looked at the pictures and wondered what else is in the pictures.
The top one was taken from our living room deck, the bottom from our bedroom.
I wonder what the other two objects are, hmmm both taken in different places.
I have no idea there was nothing else in the sky that I could see, until I put the pictures on my computer. Craziness, again! That kind of sums up my life the last week!
Let me know if you can figure out what it is, email me!?

The Swicegoods

Again, I say, Crystal takes her pictures to a whole new level. It does my heart good to see what a great family she is raising, and James of course.  Love you guys.

Heather and Ally

Heather and her friend Ally went over to our friend Mario's on Friday. Mario works on the Golden Gate Bridge and had a couple extra tickets to take Heather and Ally up the elevator and to the top of the Golden Gate.
They are really brave, he takes our friends up when he gets extra tickets. I am so afraid of heights, I could have never done it. It was on Heather's list of 'to do'. I am proud of her for making it up that high.
It is an unbelievable sight, for sure!

What a Week

This week a couple of things from my past have come to be right in front of me again...OMG, really, I looked up at Cindy and said "are you serious?", I know this is really vague and when I can gather some composure I will explain. Sorry for being out of touch for a couple days. I need to wrap my brain around what is going on in my personal life right now. After I chew it over for awhile, I will be able to put it all into words. I think!

On another note, that tornado touchdown was an EF1. Crazy right, in the Sierra Foothills? We are seriously going through crazy times right now. Pray, pray, and pray!

Tornado Touch Down

Last night we had the craziest event ever! We were watching the news, checking out the ticker at the bottom playing the headlines of the day. I read this: "the best place to hide in a tornado is in the basement", HELLO - we are in California! I keep on reading "it is approaching Nevada County, Alta Sierra area." Matt and I look at each other, it was 4 miles away at that time...A few minutes later, all hell broke loose. The hail was so big and fast it was bouncing off the roof, it was so white in our yard it looked like snow. Lightning in our yard, thunder so loud, Heather would have died, and of course, power out. Out all night, well not exactly all night, at 2:00 am the tvs went on, all the lights in the entire house. It was definately an eventful evening. Or non eventful, since we had nothing to do but go to bed. We definately were not prepared yesterday, today we are. Gas for the generator, battery inverter for dvd players, etc.

This morning on the news they verified that there were 3 touch downs of tornado in Nevada County, grass valley to be exact and Yuba City 2 times. Wow, and up the hill at 5000 feet elevation, they got 1 inches of snow! Crazy weather!

So Gorgeous

No words are even necessary with these two pictures. These are courtesy of Ally, Heather's good friend. So beautiful aren't they?

Grady

Hmmm?! I am sure Crystal is really excited about this! OMG he is already a daredevil...I do not remember Rad being quite so adventurous as this. Oh boy Crystal, get ready for this one as a teen! It seems all moms get one daredevil to deal with. Needless to say Crystal was not my daredevil. Yes, it was Heather. She took right after all my daredevilish dealings as a child. I rode mini bikes, rode carboard down the Summit, rode my bike down huge hills, waterskiied, rode horses, surfed, body surfed, swung on swings hung over huge gullies. When I got older I tried bigger motor cycles.
Did I get hurt, usually. Was it worth it, oh yeah! Most of the time any way.
Hold on Crystal, get ready for the ride.
Love you!

Judy

I love it when I can get pictures of people I do not see often, off of facebook. Judy went to a Halloween party and posted these pix of her.
She looks pretty good, so do the doggies!

This is at the Frank Family Vineyards, we wine tasted here, fantastic wines, we tried 9 different types here.

Cool picture behind wine tasting bar!

It was so great to see Mark and Beth, we had a really fun few hours together overnight on Thursday.

It was not very far to Napa, and it was super fun seeing Mark and Beth. No matter how much time goes by, it always feels like years ago. Nothing has changed with our friendship! Love you guys, thanks for a great time..,

Napa

Tomorrow I am going to Napa to see Mark and Beth, they are vacationing there for a couple days. It is only about 2 hours from here. It has been 2 or 3 years since we have seen each other, so it will be cool. Matt cannot go, of course, because of work. I will take some pictures and post when I get back on Friday. I am going to also take the opportunity to see the boys and Crystal. Crys lives about 20 or 30 miles from Napa, so I have to go right by her house.

I am so lucky to live so close to my girls, and grandkids...wish my parents were closer. hint hint!

Incredible Evening

The sunset last night was incredible, it looked like the sky was on fire! Clouds make the best sunsets to see, it was about 75 degrees last night and we were sitting outside while bbqing, nice evening!

The Pumpkin Patch

These little Gourds are such a great craft idea. Next year I am going to have Matt plant more than just 'birdhouse' gourds. Don't get me wrong they are cool, but this WOW!

I tagged along with the Swice's today to go to the pumpkin patch in Napa with them, it was great fun!

Grady is walking now, but the straw on the ground made it difficult for him to get through...look how huge these pumpkins are.

Of course, Raddy is in the tractor, he got in each and every tractor here. There were quite a few, old and new. The straw pyramid in the background had a slide from the top through it to the bottom. Rad loved it.

There were so many colors and sizes of pumpkins, and tons of people to boot!

Another tractor, Grady wanted in on this one too!

Look at all pumpkins, Grady was.

It was a really fun afternoon. Any time with the grandkids is the best. That is the same way I felt about my dad's parent's, and the way my girls feel about their grandparents.

Adorable

Okay...how funny is this?
After the revolution issue, I thought I better post something cute!

Revolution

This is what friends of mine are posting on facebook. It is really time people started realizing what is what!
I know this sounds crazy but 'POWER TO THE PEOPLE" grow your own food, or live with someone who can.
It seems that something is definately coming...

What A Change

It definitely changed from Summer to Fall, in a matter of days. The clouds look really ominous, but no rain yet. Thank goodness, because once it starts it seems like it never stops. We went from being in the 90s in the day to maybe the 70s. My house use to be at least 80 degrees inside unless the air was on, now it is 66 degrees and feels like the air is on constantly. I tried everything to get my house down to the 60s in the summer, to no avail. At night we have been getting into the 50s. I still leave my screen door open in the bedroom though, as Matt hides under the comforter every night. It feels great to actually be able to cover up at night. I believe our problem is that there is not enough insulation in the walls. Tomorrow the contractors are coming to weatherize the house, so that  will help. I so do not want to start burning yet., that means winter is coming next.

My Heather

My sweet Heather girl. She turns 25 in a few weeks. Holy moly, it seems like just yesterday she was a baby. Well, when I actually think about that, uh no it doesn't. She has grown into such a beautiful woman. She has many opportunities ahead of her. She is always trying to rush through life. I keep telling her that LIFE is the JOURNEY. I tell her to try and live one day at a time, and worry about the other stuff as it comes, but like me, she doesn't want to believe that that works. I still am wanting her to enjoy life. I remember telling both her and Crystal to sloooow down when they were young, but like their mother, that is easy said than done!
I am so proud of you Heather!

Crystal and Family

Crystal has done such a great job raising her kids, and taking care of her family.
It is almost impossible for me to believe that this weekend she turns 30 years old. OMG it was almost 30 years ago that I had this little girl. All of my dreams for her have come true. I could not have asked for more for her. All of my prayers have been answered for her. She has surpassed all hopes for her to be happy. Wow, that makes me feel old, I was 26 when I had her.
She makes me very proud!
