End Of The Summer

Trying to cut and dry all the herbs that are still producing in the garden...they are getting fewer and far between now. You can tell it is the end of summer.

I picked about a peck of peppers altogether yesterday, jalapenos, habeneros, serranos, poblanos, and 3 different kinds of bell peppers, and a few tomatoes to boot.

Super Baby

Poor Grady baby has been going through some kind of serious allergy to eggs and milk. Poor thing, Crystal is just about out of her mind with worry.
I cannot even help because we had no allergies, except to penicillan.
You can do it Crystal, hang in there. There is nothing more scary than having something unknown happen to your baby.

Shuttle Fly Over

The shuttle flying over San Francisco for the last time. San Fran must have some extra money for the boost for the 'Giants". It flew over Sacramento also, around the Capital a couple of times.
It caused backup on the freeways for a long time.

Happy First Day Of Fall

Last night was a beautifl evening. You can tell Fall is in the air, leaves are falling, trees are just starting to change colors. Tomorrow we get to start cutting our wood for the winter.
O brother, I hate this time of year...wood is hard work, but good heat. The woodstove has not been fired up since April.

Draft Horse Classic

The Fairgrounds were really great last night, I love the walkway into the grounds, lined with Marigolds.

This horse show was unbelievable. The horses were gigantic, and so agile. We saw them with carts, with wagons. We saw them barrel race, yes gigantic clydesdales barrel racing.
We saw mules cart racing and barrel racing. It was really cool.
The music on the other hand, was definately spa music, too soothing, I was getting sleepy.

When we got to the Fairgrounds, we found out we were the only Exhibitor that won tickets.
An added benefit of our veggies.

Grady's Birthday Shirt

As I told you before Crystal takes my ideas of birthday celebrations to the next level. Not only does she have stickers for the 1st year in months, she always gets the boys a birthday shirt with the age on the back. Super cute idea!

Draft Horse Classic

Yesterday I received Free Tickets to the Draft Horse Classic. The Fairground sent them to us because we were Exhibitors in the Fair. These are some of the most beautiful Horses I have ever seen.

There are huge ones, and baby ones.

This will be really exciting to see. They have all kinds of performances. These horses used to be the Real Work Horses back in the day.

Crystal, again I have to tell you what a wonderful mom you are! I obviously did something right, even with all the odds stacked against me being a single mom. You and Heather are always making me so proud of the strong women you are becoming. You take all that I did for you guys and take it a step further.

Heather, you my daughter are a sweet soul. You make me proud everyday. You are learning to wrestle this world in your own hands. And my dear, that is not an easy thing to do. I know!

You both make me prouder everyday, and I am so happy to be your mom!

I love you both with my whole heart and soul! Thanks for being such good kids.

Willie In Grass Valley

Willie Nelson's bus pulled into the Nevada County Fairgrounds last night. For one night only. We missed getting the tickets, they went on sale for 1/2 hour and were all sold out.
Through friends we get to see the pictures.

Happy Birthday Grady Baby

Today is Grady's first birthday. Wow, it is amazing how quick time flies. His birthday party is on Sunday. I will show some pictures after the party.

He is such a sweet little guy. He so wants to play with his brother, it is really cute to watch him try to keep up with Connor.
