Pumpkins

Today Matt went up to the North Fork of the Yuba River to Fly Fish, and I caught up on some chores that needed to be done. He came home with a pumpkin...I thought we were going to miss the pumpkin this year, but alas. I drew it, and Matt carved. A great combined effort, for the last minute. Pumpkins are so fun, it really gave us the Halloween spirit. Right at the last minute. The pictures do not do it justice, so imagine, it's dark and glowing, because here it is!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone.

Friday, Again?

I can hardly believe that it is Friday, again. It seems time goes by soooo fast, how do you make it last? I was in town today, all the little stores had 'trick or treat' candy out for the kids. The moms and dads and kids were going store to store to get candy while the businesses were open today. It was so cute to see all those little guys in costume. I know we will be seeing 'Angel Baby' in his costume soon enough. As I told you yesterday, the trees change every day. They sure are pretty, aren't they?

Soooo Pretty

It is amazing how beautiful it is this time of year in the Foothills. I have forgotten that there are really Seasons. You get used to pretty much the same weather in So Cal. It is crisp and incredibly stunning with the colors. Everyday they get even more brighter than the next. It is matter of time before it will be done, but we really enjoy it. Hi everyone.

Grass Valley Fall

Our weather has been getting increasingly cooler at night, so that means the trees are starting to change bigtime. My camera ran out of battery yesterday before I could take the best ones, but here are a few.

Matt and His Crew

Matt is working on a new project, it is an 8 acre clearing job. It is brutally steep, full of blackberries. It also has an abandoned mine on it. Matt was lucky enough to get workers from one of our friends, Howdy. So here is Matt and his crew.

Finally Fall

The weather is changing day by day. Last week we had our first real rain. We got over 5 inches in 24 hours. I have not seen this much rain in years. We stocked up on wood, for the wood stove, which we need on a daily basis now. One of the best things about Fall is the trees changing colors. We are in a perfect place for that. So here is the first tree that is changing. I will post more as they change. I know everyone loves the colors as much as me.

Name Change For The Blog

I guess since I no longer live with Mom and Dad, it is time to change the name of my blog. This way I can still stay in touch with all of you and let you know what's going on with Matt and I, and the Girls and their lives. It is hard to even begin to know what is going on in Mom and Dad's life when I am not there. I enjoyed being able to bring all the news about them to you, but now it is time for a change.

Lots Going On

I have been pre-occupied for the last week, so sorry nothing new is posted. I will catch up this weekend.

Heather and Cody/James and Connor

Heather and Cody made it to Apple Hill with us too! I can't say it enough, great to be so close to my girls, again. James was trying to hold Connor back from jumping over the fence to get to the horses. Connor loves horses because his Gramma and Grampa Swicegood have lots of horses for him to see.

Pumpkin Patch Pictures

Here are some more pictures of Angel Baby's trip to Apple Hill last week.

The Trailers Are Moved

Mom and Dad and Trude and Gordon have had their trailers moved. Last week both of the rigs were moved from Coloma at the Ponderosa Resort over to Oregon House, California. That is a resort called Lake of the Springs. Pretty Cool! They are only about 30 minutes from Grass Valley now. Yeah!

Life is Going Great

Things are really going well, Matt has been keeping busy with one of our Realtor friends. It seems to be working out well. There seems to be enough work here so that we won't have to worry. Mom and dad have been getting visits from other family members, which I think is great. Even though it took me to move for that to happen. So it seems there is good that comes out of all bad, right?! I spent a few days at Crystal's house last week, it is great that she lives soooo close. That is what family is really all about, being there when you need each other most. All in all the move up here is the best decision Matt and I have made in years.

Apple Hill's Pumpkin Patches

Today I went with Crystal, James, Connor, Heather and Cody to Apple Hill. It is a place full of Orchards, Winerys, and lots of pumpkin patches. It is outside of Placerville. It was really pretty cool, lots of apples and pumpkins. Nice to be close to the kids and able to do this to celebrate Crystal's birthday, which is on Thursday. OMG she is going to be 28, can you believe that. I cannot.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

Today is Mom and Dad's 55th Wedding Anniversary...I think that's right, I am 54, so that means they have been married 55 years right? That is admirable and almost unheard of these days. Hope you guys have an enjoyable day today. I know you hate to celebrate but it is worth at least talking about the fact that 55 years have gone by and you guys are still together. Love you lots. Sorry about the old picture, I thought it was cute. I do not have any new ones so this will have to do. Happy Happy Day!

Three Weeks, Already

Well it has been three weeks today that we moved, wow it just doesn't seem like that much time could fly by. Crazy how fast it really does go by. Another reason to take advantage of every minute of every day to enjoy life. I learned so much living at Mom and Dad's, I am just now realizing how much they taught me about life. I think being older this time living with my parents , I valued the time together so much more than when I was living at home the first time. This time all Mom's 'parables' actually made sense to me, I can finally use them in real life. Dad taught me endless ways to survive in this world, especially in this economy. I wish that all my siblings could learn to value what is 'real' in this world, so they don't miss out on the important, small things that mean so much in life. THank you Mom and Dad, it meant so much more than you know. As Matt and I have cocktail hour in the evening we both can't wait for the time when you can enjoy it with us, here.

On another note, Matt is working everyday making good money...He has one side job already for Saturday, looks like this was definately the right decision for us. It feels good to finally be somewhere where when you work, you actually get paid for it. That is a big change. There is a lot to be said for a Big Change with a Leap of Faith. Prayer does Change Things!

Mom's Day Yesterday

Mom and Dad got up early yesterday, earlier than my 5:00 am phonecall, to go to the eye doctor to have her new lense put in. She was taken first because she was early. When I talked with her yesterday she said she was sore and tired, but she was good. Thanks for all the prayers everyone.

Thunder and Lightning

Last night around 1:00 am it started pouring, I mean pouring rain. It was thundering and lightning so loud, the rains was tinking on the metal roof, it was like a movie. It lasted for hours until early this morning. It was so cool to listen to the rain, it has been a long time since I was where it rained that much. This morning was breathtaking, birds singing, raindrops still falling from the trees and the roof.It is just so crisp, so clean smelling, it is just wonderful to be alive.

Mom and Dad's Busy Week

Mom and Dad have a busy week this week too. They have a 'reprieve' today, but tomorrow early am Mom has her lense surgery. Prayers, please...and then on Wednesday Dad has to take her back to get her eye checked. Then hopefully they will have a restful rest of the week. Good Luck Mom and all my love and prayers to you!

Monday

Monday's are usually hard days, but this Monday is great. Matt has 2 jobs lined up to start today. These are from 'word of mouth' yeah! Finally it is good to know that our Business name is good. It was hard to believe that in So Cal, with all the frustrating 'non' work ethics from the companies we were involved with. Pacifica e-mailed us to let us know there is work here, but now they have 'crazy' rules to be paid. Even worse than the 45 days net due. So, we decided that there was 'nothing good' to gain from that company either. As we decided that, Matt received two calls for 'real work'. So everyone out there praying for us, it is working. Thank You!
