Stress Tests

Mom and Dad went to have their Stress Tests done today at Loma Linda. They both did great and are glad they do not have to go out any more this week. They do not have to go out until Tuesday when Mom gets her new lense in. Prayers everyone...

Visit From The Swicegood's

Yesterday the kids visited on their way home from moving Jame's parents over the weekend. We had a great visit, it was great to see them. It is always very special to Matt and I when we get to see our Angel Baby.

Crystal, James, and Connor

Crystal, James, and Connor have been moving Jame's parents Rick and Sue this weekend from Portola to Fallon, Nevada. They are on their way home today and are going to stop by and see the place, quickly so they do not get caught in traffic this afternoon. We are excited, we can't wait to see our Angel Baby.

Mom and Dad's Week

Even though I am not at Mom and Dad's, we talk at least once a day. That way I can keep up with what is going on in their life...It is really weird not to be there, Matt and I keep thinking we are going to go home after awhile. It still has not sunk in that we moved.

So, Mom and Dad have a doctor's appointments 3 times this week, and next week on the 5th Mom gets her new lense, how exciting for her. She will need everyone's prayers in the next couple weeks, (well more than usual) for a safe surgery.

Our Little Yard

We went from 20 acres of yard at Mom and Dad's, to a 1/5th of that size. Matt has already planted a garden with vegetables, cleaned up the front flower bed, built a little rock wall around it, mowed twice. Wow! This is a really cute yard, just enough room.

Almost Done

Almost everything has been put away...Atleast what we brought. As the days go by, we realize just how much we did NOT bring with us. Essentials, at least to me, anyways. Little things like Nightstands. What do you use with no Nightstands? Folding chairs, ah yes, uneven and at night things fall off, etc. So, already I have a list of items we need to pick up next time at Mom and Dad's, which hopefully will be semi-soon! Love to all of you, Miss you lots MOM and DAD!

Thursday

It has been one week since we moved to Grass Valley. Wow, a lot has changed in that week. Today,I finally get my Direct TV installed, 1 week with no TV, no News, no nothing, I cannot wait. On another note, Mom has been approved for her second eye surgery to remove the cateracts and to add a new lense so she can see better. She will have just about perfect vision. How nice for her, finally her eyes will not be fighting each other. The surgery is set for October 5. Dad has been cleaning up the house room by room. He told me that he found a snake in the laundry room the other day, cannot say I am sorry I missed that, but I do miss Mom and Dad, dearly. Looks like their trip to move their trailer will have to wait until after the surgery.

Still Under Construction

As you can see we are still working on the place. It seemed like we hardly brought anything with us, but wow there is a lot to put away. You can tell how tired we are of it by the exhausted looks on our faces. Not very flattering!

Mom's Opthamology Appointment

Mom got the go ahead today from her Eye Doctor to have the Lense put in her eye. It should be in the next 30 days, that she will have better than 20/20 vision. She is looking forward to being able to have her super vision back, it will be like going back in time. Yeah to Mom, she has been waiting for this for a long time. Prayers, people...

Note To Mom and Dad

We have been through sooo many things in the last 6 years I would not know where to begin to think which the BEST or WORST time was. You both helped Matt and I grow as individuals, in our relationship, and definately in a special spiritualness. None of what is happening to us now would be happening if not for YOU TWO. As I hear Tia barking because she can hear me still downstairs, I cry because it dawns on me how much I will miss all you: Mom, Dad, Tia, Bandit, Prince, and Princess. We will never be able to repay the knowledge we have gained from you. Mom, I will miss binging you coffee and chatting in the morning (I know you are crying, so am I). Dad, we have so much fun going back and forth at each other like hens, what are you gonna do without me NAGGING YOU ABOUT EVERYTHING EVERYDAY. (And I know you are probably laughig and crying at the same time, me too). I love you guys with all of my heart and soul, I always will, I will always be there when you need me. Dad, you have been such a blessing to Matt in so many ways, he wanted me to make sure and mention that. He also knows he filled a spot that was empty in you, so I believe God gave both of you a great gift in each other. Mom, you taught Matt so many ways to believe in himself, he loves you like you are his own mom. I know you both know how we feel, but it was important that I tell you myself. I love you both very much.

Company

Norm and Carol came over in all the confusion of packing to visit. Mom and Dad entertained them because Matt and I were busy still. Tomorrow I will post some pictures I took of tonight of their dinnner together. Their cute, but I cannot find my cord so you have to wait till tomorrow. Norm and Carol are just down the hill and theylove hanging out with Mom and Dad, so I feel like they are not stuck here alone.

They will all be good for each other, as Norm and Carol do not really hae any friends here either. Good Thing all the way around.

Wednesday Night

It's 9:00 pm, and of course I cannot sleep...I wonder why. Today was a crazy day. The U-haul not big enough after being filled, Matt driving a full U-haul back and forth at U-haul's insistance, and it was probably about 90 degrees. So after all is said and done, Matt went to bed at 7:30 and his alarm is set for 3:30 am. I cannot wait! STARBUCKS - HERE I COME! Matt is pulling a 14' U-haul with a 6x4 Covered Trailer. OMG, seriously, it looks like Lucy and Ricky's LONG LONG LONG TRAILER. Needless to say, we will be going 55, I hope. I am driving Matt's truck, loaded. Thank goodness Heather still has my car or I would have been pulling a car trailer. We have several friends on the other end that are going to help unload, so that is definitely something to look forward to. Send your prayers our way, we have 505 miles door to door. When I unload my electronics tomorrow night I will post the pictures of The Huge Ordeal U-haul and Trailer. Love you all. We will miss you Mom and Dad. I do already.

Fantastic News !!!

So, everyone knows how much Matt and I are looking forward to moving. But, with that known, there is another side of moving. Leaving Mom and Dad! That is the reason I have not blogged since we got back from finding the house. I just had a hard time putting into words, how happy I am and at the same time, soooo sad.

Well last night all that was resolved. Mom and Dad, and Trude and Gordon, have a membership at the Thousand Trails Campgrounds. Guess what, there is a Campground in their membership that is only 30 miles from Grass Valley. It is in a place called Oregon House, Ca. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH.

Mom, Dad, Gordon and Trude will be moving their rigs over to the new spot in the next month. Isn't that fantastic news, now no one has to be sad, because they will be right behind us.

That is probably the best news in all this moving (@$#!?) stuff. So it looks like we will be getting the UHAUL tomorrow and leaving on Thursday. At least that is what it looks like now. Love to All, and Thanks for all your Prayers in making our Dream come true.

Cottage Found

Yesterday we found the cutest cottage in the woods..with the BEST shower I have ever seen. We have been connecting with old friends, old business associates, and just plain enjoying Nevada County again. We now have a Grass Valley address, soon the phone numbers will be changed, and next week we will be living here. Wow, a lot can happen in a short time. All the prayers that everyone said for us, have been anwered. We found a little place, out of the way, and in the trees. We can burn wood again for heat, well actually we have to, their is no thermostat. Back to the ocuntry, and we are both excited.

Changes

Change is a hard thing for most people, the change that is coming in our household is going to be very different. As Matt and I get ready to leave tomorrow to find somewhere to live and work away from Mom and Dad's, we are all aware of the change that is coming. None of us are talking about it too much, because we all know that it is going to be very strange...Matt and I know that this change will effect another change, and so on, and so on. I have decided I cannot be sad, or Mom will be more sad than she is now. I feel like I should be waiting for her to move with me. But,I have to be comforted in the fact that I will find a place where Mom and Dad can put their trailer and can come anytime they want, and that will make it okay, I hope?!

Sunday Morning

It has been in the 100's the last few days, too hot to do much outside. This weather is like what the 'River' weather was like when I was a kid. Packing the Work Trailer to travel Tuesday. We are dropping it where our boat is, at a friends in Chicago Park, close to Grass Valley. It will be one less thing to move. Oh brother, the idea of moving...

Pioneering To Nevada County

Well Matt and I have a list of rentals, a list of possible employment opportunities, and we are ready to go. We found a motel to stay at for 4 nights, so in that time we expect to find at least a place to live. That will be half the battle. One of the places we are looking at has 2 acres, so mom and dad will have a place to put their trailer and an instant vacation place. So everyone, pray that this is the one. It is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath newly remodeled cottage. A friend of ours' friend owns it, so we are hoping that this is the answer to our problems. We will keep you posted.

Another Trip North

Matt and I are going to go back up North next week to look for a place to live, and investigate the employment situation. Tuesday we are going to drive to Fairfield to see the kids overnight. We can hardly wait to see our Angel Baby, Crystal and James. James will be off on Tuesday, so we will be able to visit that evening. Looking forward to it.

Canning

I spent yesterday Canning again. I think it is going well. I ran out of tomatoes, that is a good sign, at least for now. The next crop will be Roma's and they will can good too.

A Relaxing Day

Matt was released from Jury Duty, thank goodness. Dad spent most of the day in Orange County, and Mom read, and the animals relaxed with her.
