Even though there is still a snake out there, the birds thoroughly enjoy a bath. There are two there, a red and a yellow one. Mom and Dad, Trude and Gordon are really enjoying the Ponderosa where they are staying...They think they will be gone till the 9th of June. Good for them. This morning the cats both killed baby mice and left them laying in the middle of the room for someone to pick up...Guess who that someone is?! Glad mom and dad are having a great time, meanwhile on the homefront creatures are definately stirring. Everyday, everywhere....

More Fire and Snakes
So it is Saturday afternoon, we are relaxing outside on the patio, and I almost step on a snake! Yes another one, this time I almost slipped to have it face to face. They have teeth, lots of teeth...Matt & I finally trapped it, and got rid of it, after which I threw up. I was so scared, I could barely breathe. After that we are finally unshaking ourselves, when what? Oh yes, you guessed it, another snake!!! Oh my God, it ran right past us! We went into the house, without trying to catch this one. At least not tonight! Really? Snakes and Fires! Come on, what is this? They did eventually get the fire out too...

Mount Baldy
This morning looking off the front towards Mount Baldy was absolutely stunning. What a nice way to wake up to the world. Good morning everyone...Looks like the Holiday weekend is going to be nice weather.
Cloudy Cloudy Skies
Today there were the most beautiful clouds in the sky. It looked like it wanted to rain, but it did not. In So Cal you hardly ever see such blue skies, I thought it was so pretty. Mom, Dad, Trude, and Gordon are now in a park on the river. They are relaxing and enjoying life again. After all it has only been ten years since mom and dad have vacationed.

The Gold Hills
Now that Mom and Dad and Gordon and Trude are up at the property, they understand the true meaning of the 'Gold Hills'. When the sun sets, the entire ridge is eluminated in gold by the sun. It is truly a breathtaking sight. There is a lot up in the air concerning the property and our ability to put a home on it, so right now we are all taking it day by day. We know we found the right place, now can we do what we want? Only time will tell. Dad and Gordon are going to the Planning Department tomorrow to see if in fact, it does cost $60,000.00 for a permit! Oh my God, right? We are praying for the right solution to this issue...

Buzz, Buzz, Buzz
So after a hectic few days, mom and dad lost, gordon and trude stuck, a fire, a snake, I'm thinking it can only get better, right? No, that would be incorrect! I went out back to water the trees and I hear bzzzzzz, I look up and I about passed out. There was a huge 5' band of bees hanging from the corner of the roof, 5' I am not kidding. I ran upstairs to get my camera, and all but a few had disapperared...disapeared I am thinking, that's good. Oh my GOD they all went into the roof.....I am at a loss for words...
The Plot Thickens
Thursday Mom and Dad started towards Garden Valley, that is where the property is, they were 150 miles south of Sacramento. We did not hear from them until about 5:00 pm. They thought they were lost, not yet to Placerville, tired, hungry, just generally exhausted, I could hear Dad's disgust in every word. "Where the hell are we?" Uh oh, maybe it is too far out there for them. So they call when they finally make it to Garden Valley, to the realtor's, everything seems okay they say. I am thinking "I don't dare tell them about the huge fire that is spewing ashes, here, at this moment. I cried when mom told me they made it to the realtors. I thought thank God, the worry is over. Boy, I could have not been more wrong, now mom was calling 30 minutes later to tell me that they were 3 miles from the property. There was a tow truck in front of them, going down this road that only leads to the property, and low and behold it is Gordon and Trudy being towed, they got stuck. An that was all we heard last night. Nice, Huh? We do not know if everything is okay, or if they are all on their way home...
Finally: The Get Away
Mom and Dad finally left on Wednesday afternoon. They were both excited, Tia - not so much! We waited and waited all day to hear from them. Finally around 6:00 they called to let us know they were broken down on the side of the road, hwy 5 that is. Not a good breakdown place...No calls...finally about 8:45 pm they call let us know that dad fixed the truck, they got to Coalinga, and now there was something wrong with the trailer. Great, right.

Mother's Day Visit from Deanna on Saturday
Deanna and Jimmy came up yesterday to celebrate Mother's Day with mom. It was a nice visit. We had a BBQ and then to top off the evening after all was said and done. WE HAD ANOTHER RATTLESNAKE...Can you believe it, that makes 4 in a very short period of time. Mom and dad enjoyed Dee's visit very much, as you can tell by the smiles on mom's face.

Face to Face with the Helicopter
Coming onto the dirt road yesterday, I was face to face with a big red and white 'fire copter'. He was dipping his line in the water for a fire just over the hill. I was coming in - he was going out, I THOUGHT I WAS LOSING IT...I have never seen a helicopter to close to my winshield. I didn't think he would pull up in time...HE DID.so scary!
